The
purpose of the dress code is to
reflect the professional image of
FBLA and its members and to
prepare students for the business
world. Appropriate FBLA-PBL
attire is required for all
attendees (advisers, members and
guests) at all sessions, events,
regional meetings, workshops, and
other activities unless otherwise
stated. Conference name tags are
part of the dress code and must
be worn at all times.
MALES
- Pinpoint or button down
dress collared shirt (no
plaids or large print)
- Business suit
- Dress slacks
- Neckties
- Dress shoes or dress
boots
- Dress socks
- Men's business suit
(optional)
- Men's business sport coat
or sweater (optional)
- No visible body piercing,
other than ears.

FEMALES
- Business pantsuit (pants
accompanied by a
coordinated jacket)
- Business dress
- Skirt and blouse
- Closed-toed dress shoes
(no sandals of any kind)
- Hosiery
- No visible body piercing,
other than ears.

Inappropriate
attire includes;
- Denim or chambray fabric
clothing of any kind
- Overalls, shorts, skorts,
stretch or stirrup pants,
exercise or bike shorts
- Backless, see-through,
tight-fitting, or low-cut
blouses/tops/dresses
- T-shirts, lycra, spandex,
midriff tops, tank tops,
bathing suits
- Thongs, sandals, athletic
shoes, industrial work
shoes, hiking boots,
barefeet or over-the-
knee boots
- Athletic wear, including
sneakers
- Hats, flannel-fabric
clothing, or banded
collar shirts (cannot
wear tie with banded
collar shirt)
- Visible foundation
garments.
- Casual attire may be worn
for dances and caucusing
(includes jeans, nice
T-shirts, or
denim/chambray shirts,
sneakers or sandals). Not
allowed are
"cut-out" or
"cut-off"
jeans, lycra, spandex,
midriff tops and bathing
suits. Shoes and shirts
must be worn
- Semi-formal, formal, or
FBLA-PBL attire should be
worn to the awards
program.
- New fashion trends may be
in style but not
necessarily appropriate.
The best way to operate
is to avoid walking the
line. If there is a
doubt, select something
else to wear. Be a
professional.
